New Book Featuring Filey’s Fishing Heritage
A new book delving into Filey’s rich fishing heritage has been recently published. Its focus is primarily the fishing families of the town over the last two hundred years.
The near five hundred page book is the result of years of research by Irene Allen and Andrew Todd. Entitled, Filey: Fishing, Faith and Family Since 1800, it has sections on: communal life in the old town; migration of families to Filey; differing methods of fishing; the importance of faith to fishing families; and much more besides.
We will publish a review of the book later this month, but for now, the book is on sale at the Red Box on Hope Street.
