Lifeboat Fundraiser at Banks
On Thursday night, 4th November, the Banks Lounge Bar on Murray Street are hosting a pie and pea fund raising evening in aid of the Filey Lifeboat.
The pie and pea supper begins at 6pm with tickets from the bar costing £5. There will also be a raffle, with a fabulous prize of a hamper, and a Penny for the Lifeboat Guy as well. In light of the sad, but perhaps inevitable, cancellation of the Lion’s annual bonfire, the event at Banks will be a great communal and fund raising event.
There has been lifeboat at Filey since 1804 and the RNLI took over responsibility in 1852. The station is home to two lifeboats; the Marjorie Shepherd, an Atlantic 85-class and the Braund, a D-class.
